This is just one of many awesome photos that http://photos.theitchyeyes.net/ took on Saturday, and I will no doubt steal and post a million more. Saturday was quite a story, but I will get that started soon. In the mean time here is Rhys + Desta being awesome.

April 6th 2013 saw me at Palm beach for the DIY wedding of Beci & Ryan. I loved that they had their ceremony & reception at the family home they share with their ridiculously cute daughter Lola.

The aisle was created by a heap of hay bales and Beci walked down to Skinny Love by Bon Iver. We incorporated the couples first dance song lyrics as a reading (Ben Fold’s “The Luckiest”). And we got to use some Johnny Cash wisdom in the ceremony also which made Ryan happy .

As always making the couple write their own vows and then keeping them a secret from each other until the day of their wedding is always the best part of the ceremony…well that and the “kiss the bride” part haha.

Confetti makes any wedding a damn party!! So walking back down the aisle with little Lola (who sadly had a flu) in Dad’s arms, getting congratulated and covered in confetti is a great way to end a wedding cermony.

The “burgundy” suit was so good. I’m not a big suit guy, I guess I am new to wearing one every weekend…BUT… I want to see more Burgundy suits at weddings…(Grooms you have been warned).

Thanks Beci & Ryan & Lola for letting be apart of the day!

I used to love the rain, I guess I still do..sometimes. But rain on two wedding days back to back was kind of getting on my nerves.
Saturday was the worst day for the rain and it was also the wedding day of Jason & Erin. They got married at Wolston House at Wacol, which is an amazing venue for a wedding and not even the rain could stop this awesome day going ahead.
The original ceremony was to take place on the grass and outdoors, but we had to move it obviously. Then even while we waited on Erin’s arrival we moved it all again to accommodate this rain and make it the best set up for the two of them. In the end I am glad we did as it made for some amazing photos. Jess Jackson did and amazing job.
I loved how we could use the couples first dance song as part of a reading done by Jason’s brother, and using lyrics by The Ataris in Jason’s vows was a nice touch and I hope he liked them as much as I did.
Jason & Erin =1
Rain =0
